"Amanda was an absolute joy to work with! She really captured some beautiful images that i will be able to look back on for years to come. We had a few initial chats prior to the session but the whole process felt effortless thanks to her. I highly recommend Amanda without reservation."

I am a fine-art wedding and portrait photographer for the romantics at heart. I've been photographing since I was 16 and I can't imagine doing anything else! I love film and seeing light with shadow and depth.

I have a fine art degree in film from Marywood University, I am 33 years old and I love champagne, chocolate chip cookies and running! I support women and small businesses and love teaching photography.

This session is WHATEVER YOU WANT IT TO BE! It can be for your partner, it can be for an anniversary gift or it can be JUST FOR YOU! I always say we have one life, lets live it! To inquire about booking a boudoir session, simply reach out and let me know!

Once I know you are interested, I will hop on the phone with you to chat about your expectations for the shoot and answer all your questions about how to prepare and what to expect!

When you're ready to book and schedule a date, I usually recommend shooting during the weekdays mid-day! However, weekend dates are available, but fill up quickly so don't wait too long to schedule your session!

inquiry, Consultation & scheduling

what to expect

Once we have picked a date for your shoot, I will send you a contract that you can easily review and sign online!

I will also send you an invoice for the shoot. There is a 50% non-fundable retainer due at the time of booking. The remainder will be due 14 days prior to your shoot!

Along with your contract and invoice, you will also receive a questionnaire! This questionnaire will allow me to get to know you a little more, further gauge your expectations and help me prep the shoot to make sure you will be comfortable, relaxed and able to let loose and have a little fun!

Contract, Invoice & Questionnaire

Once the contract is signed and the invoice retainer is paid, the planning begins!

There are so many outfit options you can choose from when shopping or digging through your closet! Also, don't forget your accessories! Jewelry, knee-high socks, stockings and a good pair of heels are the perfect addition to any outfit to make the shoot more unique to you!

Planning & Prep

Once you arrive to the studio, the fun can begin! The shoot is all about you so sit back, relax and enjoy yourself!

My top priority is making this a comfortable and luxury experience for you. Of course, champagne, beverages and snacks will be provided and I'll be sure to have your favorite music playing!

I highly recommend getting your hair and makeup done professionally for the shoot, but you are more than welcome to do it all yourself too! You can also get your hair and makeup done right in the studio by one of our preferred vendors!

The shoot

During your session, I will shoot both film and digital images. It's said that good things take time and with film, it does time some time to develop! But, it's so worth it!

You full gallery will be available to you on password protected gallery in around 4-6 weeks following your session (but, it could be sooner!). I do try to send out a few sneak peeks before the full gallery is sent out too!

Delivery of images

Skin - Take care of your skin like you normally would! This is definitely not the time to experiment with waxing if you have never waxed before! Shave like normal and moisturize!

Nails - Be sure to get a fresh, professional manicure for your session. Nails seem like such a small detail, but trust me, it's a detail that matters! When choosing a color for your nails, avoid bright colors. Neutrals are best!

Feet - Be sure to scrub the bottoms of your feet the morning of your session! Oh, and moisturize!

Spray tans - Please do not get a spray tan before your session! The camera is very good at picking up orange and accentuating it. Just trust me, don't do it!

Hydrate - Drink plenty of water leading up to your session, it hydrates and purifies your skin! Avoid alcohol, if possible.

Remove tags - Remove all the tags from your chosen outfits, even the permanent ones! You don't want sneaky tags to show in your images!

Leading up to the shoot

How to Prepare

how to prepare

Eat - Eat a healthy breakfast and/or light snack before your session!

Clothing - Wear loose clothing and undergarments to prevent lines on your skin (wear fuzzy socks!!)

Stretch - some poses aren’t easy and may require a little bit of core strength, so stretching before your session is helpful to prevent soreness!

Arrival - Arrive to the studio with a clean, moisturized face if hair and makeup is included in your collection!

What to wear: outfits

Finding the right outfit pieces for your body type can be tricky if you don't know what you are looking for! But, no worries, I'm here to help you through it! Here are some tips to help:
If your stomach is a concern area - consider high waisted panties, a corset belt, or a bodysuit. Bodysuits are flattering on every body type!!
Don’t wear anything that is too small and can dig into your skin or create the dreaded “muffin top”.
Consider normal clothing if you are worried about being too revealing - t-shirts, cardigans or button-up shirts can be paired with a cute pair of panties to make a sexy, but less skimpy outfit.
Load up on accessories! Consider bringing pearls, long necklaces, body jewelry, hats, fishnets or sheer black hose, and shoes!

Jewelry (Necklaces, pearls, bracelets and rings!)
Knee-high socks
Stocking/Garter Belts
Heels / veil or anything wedding fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

No, you definitely don't have to wear lingerie if you don't want to! There are many options for outfits that you can choose from that isn't necessarily lingerie. For example, a cozy sweater and cute pair of matching panties with knee-high socks. Your session should be unique to you and if lingerie isn't your style, that is totally okay!

Do I have to wear lingerie?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

For boudoir sessions, I require a 50% deposit which is due at booking, however the remaining 50% can be broken down into separate payments as needed but must be paid in full prior to your session. Exceptions for payment plans due past your session are for product orders only!

Do you have payment plans?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Hair and makeup can be added to your boudoir collection! If you do decide to add on hair and makeup services, I will bring in a preferred vendor to complete the services. If you do not want to add on hair and makeup, that's okay too! You are more than welcome to hire a professional artist yourself - you can even have the artist complete your hair and makeup at the studio!

Is hair and makeup included?

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

There are many places that you can buy outfits for your shoot. If you are on a budget, I always recommend Amazon or Shein! If you have a little money to spend, you can try Victoria Secret or Torrid. If you'd like more high quality outfits, try Honey Birdette or Agent Provocateur.

Where should I buy outfits?

Frequently asked questions

I offer various sizes of albums and prints!

What type of print products do you have?

frequently asked questions

Most sessions are held in my studio in downtown Monterey. However, we don't have to shoot there if you'd rather shoot in your home! I'm open to having your session wherever you are most comfortable!

Where are sessions held / does the shoot have to be in the studio?

frequently asked questions

To start the booking process for a boudoir session, simply reach out to me! You can get in touch with me through my website or social media. From there, we can schedule a date and I will send you a contract, invoice and questionnaire!

How do I schedule a session?

frequently asked questions

I shoot boudoir sessions in both film and digital. They say that all good things take time and well...film takes some time to develop. Typically, your full gallery will be ready in about 2-3 weeks, but I do try to send out some sneak peeks prior to that!

How soon will my images be ready?

frequently asked questions

You are more than welcome to bring a friend to your shoot for some extra moral support!

Can I bring a friend to my shoot?

frequently asked questions

Please don't. No matter how stunning the spray tans are in person, it does not photograph the same. The camera is very good at picking up colors that we don't see and accentuating them. We definitely don't want you to look orange in your images or have unflattering tan lines.

Should I tan before my session?

frequently asked questions

Although most of the clients featured on my website and social media are younger in age, there is no age limit for boudoir! I love photographing women of all ages!

What is the average age of your clients? Do you photograph older women?

frequently asked questions

In most cases, yes! Editing out cellulite, stretch marks and acne is all part of the skin retouching process. Just let me know what you're concerned about ahead of time. You'd be amazed by how effective strategic posing and lighting are when trying to minimize insecurities!

Do you photoshop out my cellulite/stretch marks/acne?
